Professional golfer Paul Casey recently met with young people at the Harris Academy Merton to visit two Youth Sport Trust projects being delivered in partnership with The Paul Casey Foundation.

Paul, currently 8th in the world rankings, spent time with the 100 five and six year olds taking part in a Multi-Skills Festival hosted by the Academy. During the Festival the young people participated in twelve activities designed to develop the fundamental movement skills of balance, coordination and agility, including the Paul Casey ‘hole in one’ Challenge!

Through funding from the Paul Casey Foundation, the Youth Sport Trust is providing 50 primary schools in South West London and Surrey with expert guidance and resources which will enable them to run Multi-skills Festivals.

Following this, Paul spent time sharing his own journey to the top with a group of exceptionally talented young athletes from Harris Academy and nearby Archbishop Lanfranc School.

The young sportspeople aged 12-16 are part of two Paul Casey Foundation STARS Squads based in the Surrey area; a project designed to help talented young athletes achieve their academic and sporting potential and, in doing so, help the school build a culture of aspiration and achievement for all its pupils.
